Uganda’s capital city is set to take center stage in Africa’s growing digital tourism landscape as it prepares to host the 3rd edition of the Africa Travel Content Creator Conference (AFTCOC) from October 22 to 25, 2025, at Protea Hotel Kampala Skyz.
Under the theme “Unveiling Africa through Creative Content,” the highly anticipated four-day event will unite travel content creators, tourism professionals, brands, and digital storytellers from across the continent and beyond to share, learn, and shape the narrative of African travel through authentic and innovative content.
Organized by Nigeria-based platform Taste of Africa Vibes (TOAV), a globally recognized community of over 70,000 creators, and supported by Uganda’s Tourism Promoters Club (TPC), the event promises immersive workshops, insightful panel discussions, networking opportunities, and curated cultural experiences across Kampala and its surroundings.
Speaking at the official press launch on July 9, Ajena Jafar, team lead at the Tourism Promoters Club, emphasized the significance of hosting the conference in Uganda.
“This conference offers significant benefits, most notably by bringing together the continent’s most creative storytellers. They will explore, document, and share positive stories about the Pearl of Africa with thousands of followers on platforms like YouTube and Instagram.” Jafar said.
The conference also aims to empower young Ugandan creators by offering them affordable access to a professional and transformative space. For UGX 150,000, participants will receive a two-day event pass covering workshops, panel sessions, lunch, refreshments, and excursions supported by the Uganda Tourism Board.
Jibola Abati, founder of Taste of Africa Vibes, echoed Jafar’s enthusiasm, highlighting the event’s broader goal of digital empowerment and cultural celebration.
“AFTCOC is more than a conference, it’s a celebration of African stories told by Africans. This year, we’re especially committed to empowering local creators and tourism enthusiasts in Uganda through capacity-building and firsthand exploration,” Abati said.
With support from the Uganda Tourism Board, event organizers WUZA, and hospitality partner Protea Hotel Kampala Skyz, AFTCOC 2025 is positioned to spotlight Uganda’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and welcoming spirit on a global scale.
As preparations gather momentum, both organizers and stakeholders are calling on content creators, tourism boards, and travel brands across Africa to take part in this unique initiative. From showcasing Kampala’s cultural pulse to empowering the next generation of travel influencers, the 2025 edition is expected to leave a lasting imprint on Uganda’s tourism narrative.
“Let’s build something unforgettable, together,” Abati concluded, reflecting the collaborative spirit of this landmark event.
